In almost every state in the US, construction jobs gained ground through 2015. According to data from the Bureau of Labor Services (BLS), 44 states and Washington D.C. improved in construction employment numbers. Only six states saw losses in construction employment in 2015.
According to the BLS data, compiled by the Association of General Contractors (AGC), Hawaii, Iowa, Arkansas, Idaho and Delaware all saw the largest employment gains, between 10% and 15%.
Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Wyoming, New Mexico, West Virginia and North Dakota all saw losses in construction employment through the year. North Dakota saw the biggest drop with 8.1% losses in employment while Pennsylvania only saw a 0.2% loss.
