What blow bars should I order for my particular application?

Please refer to your Parts and Operator’s Manual and check the UltraMax® Blow Bar Selection Chart, or contact us.

When should I flip my blow bars in the impactor?

Suggestions may be found in your Parts and Operator’s Manual, when to rotate or change the blow bars.

Where can I locate the model and serial number of the plant? Crusher? Feeder? Screen?

Plant Model and Serial Number is located on the Left Front and Right Rear of the Chassis.

Unit Number is located on the Right/Front corner of the Chassis (Ex. UNT-0965).

Feeder SN is located on the NON-Drive side of the Feeder.

Screen SN is located on the NON-Drive side of the Screen.

Why do I need to provide my Model and SN when ordering parts?

Since many upgrades have been made through the years to improve the performance of our equipment, the Model and SN are necessary to assure you receive the proper parts for the exact equipment you have.

Why does my parts book call out 67B…. numbers, but when I receive the parts they are marked 62A….?

The 67B…. numbers are for kits (which include the hardware). Parts are labeled individually with the 62A….numbers. When you order a kit, your invoice lists the 62A…individual part number, and the price reflects the cost of both the part and the hardware. The hardware is listed separately without a price to indicate that you ordered a kit.

How do I know when my wear liners need replaced?

The wear liners inside your impactor are 1” thick. If you notice they are worn to ¼” or less they should be replaced, before damage to the parent metal occurs.

How much oil goes in my deister feeder?

For the 1200-25 plant: 11 gallons

For the 1000-15 Plant: 9.5 gallons

For the 500-05 Plant: 7 gallons

For the 1400-45 Plant: 7 gallons

How much oil should I put in my vibrating screen?

For Simplicity screens: use enough oil to bring the level inside the sight glass to half way in the window. Over filling will cause leakage!

  • 4’ X 12’ Double Deck Screen uses about 6 quarts (flows through the tube)
  • 5’ X 14’ & 5’ X 16’ Double Deck screens use about 9 quarts (flows through the tube)
  • 6’ X 20’ Triple deck screens use about 8 quarts total (only in end covers, nothing in the center tube)

For Deister screens:

  • The 5 X 14 DD on a 1000-15 plant holds 2.1 Gallons
  • The 4 X 12 DD on a 500-05 plant holds 1.5 Gallons
  • The 6 X 20 Triple Deck on a screening plant holds 12 Gallons
What are the torque specifications for the wedge bolts?

The ¾”-10 NC wedge bolts should torque to 75 ft-lbs.

What fluid goes in my fluid coupling?
  • 500-05, 1000-15, and 1200-25 plants all use ISO 32 hydraulic fluid and the coupling holds 5 gallons.
  • The 1400-45 plant uses Phosphate Ester fluid due to it having a high flash point and it holds 5 gallons.

The Eagle Crusher part number for this special oil is: 60A7084.

  • Mobil SHC 632 preferred OR Mobilgear 600 for 40 to 100 degrees F

1400-45 plants with Simplicity feeders have 120mm bearings and use:

  • Mobil SHC 624 for -30 to +30 degrees F
  • Mobil SHC 629 oil for 30 to 85 degrees F
  • Mobil SHC 632 oil for 85 to 110 degrees F
What oil should I use in my screen?

500-05CC, 1000-15CC and 1200-25CC with Simplicity Screen all have 110mm bearings and use:

Where do I set my crusher curtain (apron) settings?

Typically as a starting point, you should set the secondary curtain at the same setting as top deck screen cloth or for what size the desired finished product is.

The rule of thumb setting for the primary curtain (apron) is three times as wide as where the secondary is set.

These are starting points. Once it is determined how the material breaks, the settings can be altered to suit. Contact your sales person for more details.

Why does my low voltage alarm keep sounding?

This typically indicates a loose belt condition either on the generator or counter shaft belt.

You should check the belt tension from the engine drive to the counter shaft belt or the counter shaft belt to the generator.

It may indicate low RPM on the engine. Check that the engine RPM setting is correct (1800 to 1840).

It may indicate a low voltage situation. Check your three-phase voltage at the main disconnect to see if you have 480 volts on all 3 phases.

Why is my fluid coupler leaking large amounts of oil?

This is an indicator that your ‘”fusible plug” has melted.

The fusible plug is a safety device on the fluid coupler. It melts at 198 degrees Celsius. Make sure the plug is replaced by a fusible plug with the same specifications and melting point.

The Eagle Crusher part number for this fusible plug is: 60A6394.

Why will my air bags not raise the unit off the tires?

This typically indicates a problem in the air ride system.

There is a leveling switch on the axles that control the valve to level the air ride. You may have to disconnect the linkage to allow the bags to fill.

It may indicate foreign materials in the air system, e.g. material in glad hands or the air lines control valve, etc.

You may have to assist the air ride by lifting the unit with the rear hydraulic legs, allowing the bags to fill. DO NOT raise the unit too high or the leveling valve will sense it needs to lower the machine and just exhaust the air.

Why will my engine crank but not start?

Typically this is an indication the emergency stop circuit is OPEN.

This means that one or more of the emergency stop buttons is pushed in.

This could be that the contact block on the back of one or more emergency stop buttons is stuck OPEN.

This could be a loose or broken wire in your emergency stop circuit consisting of wires 90, 91, & 92.

This could mean your thermal switch on your fluid coupler is open.

Why won’t my start-up alarm sound?

The control voltage is not present.

Check your voltage at the start-up alarm. If 120 volt is not present, back track the voltage until you find where it stops.

Check to see if all your “Stop All Motors” buttons are pulled out.

Check whether the main circuit breaker is turned ON.

Check whether the “Control Volt” Fuse is blown.

Check to see if the contact block on the back side of the startup horn button closes when being pressed.
