Department: Material Handler
Shift Details: 1st Shift: 5:00am-3:30pm Monday-Thursday, 5:00am-2:30pm Friday (Hours subject to change)
Hourly Pay Range: $16 per hour, .50 cent raise after 90 days, another .50 cent raise after 6 months, plus annual pay increases based on performance.
Job Purpose:
Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory.
- Follows schedule in order to accurately pull for correct jobs.
- Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on work orders.
- Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
- Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered on daily production sheets.
- Loads materials into vehicles for transport and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Routinely operates industrial forklift, overhead crane and hoists.
- Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections, making operator repairs.
- Performs any related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- Dependability and punctuality.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Must perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods.
- Possess communication, teamwork, problem solving, and leadership skills.
- Willing to work in hot and cold environments.
- Willing to work overtime when needed.
- Must be 18 years or older to apply.
